Hello everyone! My thoughts about building a house are becoming more concrete and I wonder if it is feasible as a single 38-year-old (most people are married with these questions).

The following initial situation:
120,000 euros equity / income: 4,000 euros net + special payments annually 15,000 euros
20 years of company affiliation

No debts / new car / current monthly savings rate about 1,200 euros

Cost for land about 45,000 euros (rural area about 800-900 sqm)

Cost for house + double garage about 350,000 (without basement) 180-200 sqm living space
(please no questions why I need so much space as a single --> comfort factor)

+ ancillary construction costs 25,000 euros

I am planning a loan of 300,000 euros.
Monthly rate should be about 1,500 euros + special payment annually 10,000

What do you say?

What speaks against it? If you have reservations, then build a little smaller (you can feel very comfortable even in a stylish 160sqm).

Counter question: what were your assumptions and calculations for it?

I’d say 300,000 euros is no small matter....it really makes you think.

Control question: How secure is the job and how quickly do people rotate in your industry? Singles do not enjoy social status and are the first to be off the radar. Just keep this in mind in case it might be relevant.
