We are currently having a house built. The roof was not fully boarded with wood, but according to the construction description, a highly vapor-permeable, waterproof underlay membrane was installed on the rafters. It is a green foil. During the roofing, this foil was punctured because, according to the roofer, the lift got jammed and a tile fell. We have raised the issue several times. Each time, we were assured that all holes were sealed with a special adhesive. Has anyone had experience with this problem? We are now afraid that the foil is not watertight and water can penetrate. That would cause greater damage since the entire insulation of the drywall would get soaked. It probably takes longer to notice such a thing. Who can assure us with certainty that the foil is really watertight?
