Hello everyone,

I completed my house construction last May.
So far everything is fine. Only the electricity consumption of my air-to-water heat pump worries me a bit. My installer told me that the consumption for the first year would be normal because the masonry is still damp. But somehow I can’t really believe that. Therefore, I wanted to ask you if you still consider the consumption normal.

About the house:
Living area 170 sqm + 80 sqm basement. Completely with underfloor heating. However, the basement is not heated.
Central ventilation system with heat recovery from Vallox.
KFW70.
Energy demand according to calculation: 50.7 kWh/sqm.

Heating system:
Mitsubishi Zubatan 11.2 kW without heating rod.
Multifunctional water storage tank from Zeeh 840 l.

Settings:
Hot water: 50°C
Flow temperature: 23.9°C
Circ. return temperature: 38°C
Normal temperature: 21°C
Night setback: 18°C

Heating curve:
Slope: 0.30
Max. flow temperature: 45°C
Min. flow temperature: 15°C
Control: outdoor temperature

RTR of the individual rooms. Average temperature 21 degrees. In the bathroom approx. 22.5 degrees.

Electricity consumption of the air-to-water heat pump (separate meter)
July 122 kWh
August 128 kWh
September 347 kWh
October 808 kWh
November 1000 kWh
December 1019 kWh
January 1530 kWh
February 1274 kWh
March 1246 kWh
April 738 kWh

This results in a yearly consumption of approx. 9000 kWh. That seems quite high to me.

Thanks in advance for your answers.
Regards
Andre

9000 kWh (not kw/h) yield or actual electricity consumption? The setup is unfavorable... without knowing the system. 11.2 kW is very much; 800 l storage tanks serve what purpose? I assume they have to be kept warm continuously. Lower the hot water temperature to 46°C, turn off the heating rod. Go to the pink forum and describe your case. It's over €150 per month if that really is electricity...

Please go to the pink forum... you’re burning money (ironic, considering that you are heating with a heat pump).

Thank you.
I have now asked the question in the pink forum.
