Hello everyone,

I would like to know from you at what height I should set the foundations in the working area (i.e. directly at the house) for the carport? Height of the top edge of the basement ceiling / bottom edge? I think the height of the paving stones, etc. must still be deducted here! Correct. But what measurement do you use in this case??

Thanks for your tips and experiences!

Michael

At our neighbor's, the foundations are below the paving. The entire paving of the parking spaces is drained internally, so that the paving stones are at a different level than the basement ceiling.

that means height of the foundations = ground top edge raw - height of paving stones - gravel layer for paving stones... ? Is that then roughly the guideline?

with my neighbors yes, although the gravel layer above the point foundations was significantly smaller than with the other paving stones. When they wanted to build their carport, however, they wanted to remove their paving stones (above the foundations) and build directly on the foundation. In other words: The post of the carport extends all the way down (deeper than the paving stones). A matter of taste whether one finds that nicer,... Floor top edge raw I understand as the target top edge of the floor

yes, floor top edge raw is meant as target top edge floor :) Since we have not yet agreed on a specific paving stone, what height should I take there? 7 - 8 cm? Gravel layer height? Thank you

Gravel layer approx. 4 cm, paving approx. 8 cm, settlement approx. -1 cm I think it makes sense to set the carport directly on the foundations. If you want to hide the foundations, then set them about 10-11 cm lower than ground level - but then you will need appropriate ground sleeves when assembling your carport. Otherwise, set the foundations at the final level and pave nicely around them. That can also look quite nice. It's a matter of taste - whether you want to see the "ugly" foundations later or not.
