I just saw that there are now heaters that can burn pellets and regular firewood. I actually find that pretty brilliant, since I live in a rural area and can partly make the wood myself. Does anyone have such a heater at home and can tell me if it’s really any good? Can you burn really thick logs with it or do you have to chop the wood very small?

A log pellet combination boiler is the combination of a log boiler and an integrated pellet burner. Functionally, the combination arises in the automatic continuation of operation from log wood to pellets. That means the combination boiler automatically switches to pellet combustion after the log wood has been burned. You do not have to chop the logs into very small pieces; you use logs as you would burn them in a fireplace.

Hi,

We have such a pellet heating system and we are very satisfied with it. We also live in an area with a lot of forest, so obtaining wood is not a problem. I got myself such a [Kaminspalter] and with it the firewood logs are prepared.

My uncle also owns a heating system where wood is burned. Additionally, a fireplace is used and that is already a pleasant thing. Especially when it is very cold, this warmth is very enjoyable and I love the smell of wood.

Some progress has also been made in this area. We have acquired a combination boiler and it works excellently. So we can burn pellets and logs wonderfully here. I am glad that I no longer have an oil heating system.
