Hello forum,

the subsequent milling of a large number of grooves for the installation of heating loops will in most cases not be possible, as the screed will be severely weakened and will probably sustain damage through use, i.e. break. Subsequent floor coverings are usually also damaged in the process.

It is definitely more sensible to break up the old floor and create a homogeneous structure:

1. The new floor remains undamaged. No warranty will be assumed for the milled one.
2. The costs for milling are astronomical and not reasonably calculable.
3. I know many milling companies, but none that can do this efficiently.

Best regards

Kristof

So I had a quote made before the renovation. The company received the floor plans and made me a detailed offer. For 140 sqm in total about €6500 gross including pipes, distributor, etc. Disposal of dust, connection to the heating system, and chipping work were the responsibility of the client. Also, of course, the grouting of the pipes. I don't find that very expensive. I waived it due to the schedule. There was an eight-week lead time, which I unfortunately did not have.
