Now the new handheld showerhead has arrived, which was specially advertised with "more power than others." And lo and behold: Yes, there is now proper pressure again. And that for 12 EUR instead of 50 EUR, a shame about the money...

But I still haven't understood why such showerheads are built so that hardly anything comes out, and what hotels find so great about that. You won't save water with it because the usage time just increases. Overall, it stays the same, only that people get annoyed...

Of course, the hotels save a lot of water with this. Because the average guest showers for a time X.

But if less water comes out, the shower duration is extended accordingly. I have my doubts whether this actually saves water.

Fallacy. As a hotel operator, I can assure you that this is not the case. The amount of water used decreases. Guests simply shower for the same amount of time. Very few shower longer because a) they don't have the time, b) they are used to showering for a certain amount of time, and c) they manage fine and get clean with the lower amount of water.

Sure, it's logical, that saves a lot of water. However, at the cost of comfort, which is why I don't like those devices either. Another reason why they are so widespread is thanks to the [Luftwärmepumpen]. These are pure energy guzzlers, especially when it comes to hot water production. So use as little as possible...

Hello Matthias,
what is the name of your showerhead? I'm searching all over.
