Hello everyone,
Currently, at our house (built around 2000), the roof overhang and the terrace roofing (both made of wood) are being renovated for the first time. The wood was completely sanded down and painted twice with a thin-layer glaze.
Since the terrace roofing covers a larger area, the paint was sprayed on there instead of applied with a brush/roller. Result: Everywhere the brush/roller was used, the result looks very good, but everywhere it was sprayed (only in the terrace area), it does not look good. The surface there appears very patchy, sometimes lighter, sometimes darker than the rest. Additionally, there are thinner streaks of paint visible in several places (as if liquid has gathered and is flowing down the slope).
I would like to know your opinion on this:
* What do you generally think about the procedure described above (spraying compared to brush/roller)?
* Would you accept something like this from a professional?
* Could fresh paint be sanded off again without problems? Problem areas might be the joints (which are partly darker than the rest and probably difficult to sand down). Are there any other alternatives?
I would appreciate any helpful response, thank you!
Regards, Peter
