Guest WC: Lower the ceiling or cover the pipe?

Hello,

we have the following problem with our new building: in the shower of the guest WC on the ground floor, a vertical pipe shaft is planned to lead the wastewater from the upper floor downwards. The pipe shaft is located right near the entrance, and we would therefore prefer not to have it in that spot.

Now to the options I see:

A) A suggestion from the sanitation company was to relocate the pipe shaft next to the WC, where there is also a breakthrough in the floor, and then drain the water there. However, the pipe would have to be led from the original opening under the wall to the new location of the pipe shaft. This would be done either in the shower or in front of it (see option 1 and 2).

Now I wonder, does it make sense to do it this way and then lower the ceiling to hide the pipe? The ceiling height would then decrease from 2.6 m to about 2.45 m! But you could also integrate spotlights well, etc. However, what about steam/water in the cavity, etc.?

B) An alternative that occurred to me would be to relocate the pipe shaft in the shower to the other wall. There you could then build a pre-wall containing the pipe shaft. The size of the shower would then decrease, but that is okay. (see option 3). The question is whether the water from the pipe shaft can then be led under the shower tray to the original drain...

What do you think?
I look forward to your opinions.

Doesn't anyone have an opinion on this? Perhaps someone had the same problem or maybe has a vertical pipe casing in the shower?

Where are your concerns with the current position? Do you think it will be heard massively outside? Otherwise, the effort seems somewhat pointless to me. I would leave it as it is, of course the shower would be nicer without this corner. But I don't see a big problem with it!

Otherwise, just move it to the desired spot with a suspended ceiling, steam etc., I don't see any problems there (we also have a suspended ceiling in the bathroom and no problems at all. Of course, ventilation is necessary! Moving it into the shower, I consider the worst option, since that makes the shower quite small.

It’s not about noise or anything... just the appearance. These vertical pipe shafts everywhere bother me. If I had known beforehand, I would have planned the bathrooms/laundry room so that none are visible. It’s also a big loss of space; in the upper floor bathroom, we have about 20-30 cm less space for our washbasin, which we had originally planned. And it looks stupid in the shower as well. Shifting the shower would still be okay if it remained about 80 x 80 at the end (currently 100 x 80)...

In our case, the pipe is flush with the partition wall for the washbasin and is therefore not bothersome; only 20 cm of shelf space is missing. Is your washbasin right up against the wall?

The "views" are so different; for me, a 80x80 shower is absolutely out of the question. Also not really as a guest shower, because for me, being 1.86m tall, that’s quite cramped. But if that box there bothers you so much, why not run the pipe down there and then extend the casing over the whole wall up to the door (although then the entrance might become quite narrow). The front box could then contain a shelf. Or simply go across in the shower and then execute it on the shower side that is not the outer wall.
