Hello everyone,

We are currently planning to have the floor tile (grey/"moon" porcelain stoneware, slight concrete look) applied to the wall at least in the guest bathroom as well. Two questions for your opinion:

- On the floor it will be 60x60. Then the wall 30x60 or also 60x60?
- Default grout color is wall silver grey, floor cement grey. Is that common, even with the same tiles (we were told) or do you always use the same color? If so, which one? Rather darker or lighter than the tile?

Thanks and best regards

We have the same color. If different, I would grout the floor with light gray and the walls darker, since with us the floor grout has darkened. But it doesn't bother us at all.

There is no usual way here. Grouting is done according to the customer's wishes or you tell the tiler to do everything with the tile color as usual.

Ours asked us several times how we want it to be sure.

We have wood-look tiles.

- Grout is gray
- Silicone joint is the color tone of the tile
- Baseboard joint at the top is white where all walls are white.

The fireplace is gray, here the painter mixed the silicone color tone.

Thank you all for the information and photos!

Is there a rule of thumb for the sizes?

For what? For the baseboard or for the grout? Here, too, we do what the customer says. My tiler installs a 7cm baseboard height. We wanted 6cm. He had customers who wanted 10cm. Grout varies depending on the tile. For rectified tiles, 2-3mm is possible. That is also the minimum.

we have concrete-look tiles in the bathroom on the floor and on the wall. We chose the grout color ourselves and had the floor and walls grouted the same way; in my opinion, it doesn't look as good otherwise (with the same tiles).

Best regards
Sabine
