We have a large umbrella from Ikea with a very heavy concrete base. It has been serving here since 2018, even though we live only 400m as the crow flies from the sea. So there is plenty of wind.
Good sunshade (4x5m) with sleeve or mobile

A quick shoutout to everyone here who talks about their big umbrellas... Would it be possible for you to take and show some photos? We also still need to deal with the topic of terrace shading. Fixed roofing is great but expensive. Sun sails... not sure. Awning, somehow unsexy. Umbrella... an alternative?

I switched from an umbrella to a sun sail after 3 years and do not regret not having done it earlier. The umbrella only provides spot shading, the sail attached to the facade also shades the large terrace door.
