Gas boiler in combination with solar or better pellet?

Hello everyone,

we plan to build a house with a granny flat this year. A total of 235 m² needs to be heated.
From the beginning, we were clear that we want to heat our house with gas. However, according to our architect, a pure gas boiler is not possible because he/we must prove at least 15% of the heat energy demand from renewable energies according to the [Erneuerbare-Energien-Wärmegesetz]. Is that correct?

If yes, we would decide on a combination of gas + solar or gas + pellet stove (water-bearing) in the living room.

Which combination would you recommend to us?

Which gas boiler/gas condensing wall-mounted boiler with water storage would the heating specialists recommend to us?

Thank you very much!

So can I also prove the 15% with a gas boiler and a wood-burning fireplace (continuous operating stove)? I am reluctant to have a heat pump and I cannot heat 220m2 with only solar.

Hello,
No! There are exceptions. I would change the architect.

This question cannot be answered reliably at all. For this, the normative heating load, the room heating loads, as well as the hydraulic requirements of the heating surfaces must be known.

Best regards.

No. In addition, the proof must be provided by a professional with the appropriate training. You should consult a real expert (TGA planner), otherwise the project will be a money pit.

Best regards.

Hello Mr. Koch,
But only if you are not familiar with § 9 EEWG!

Well, have you ever dealt with the "actual" yield of solar thermal systems in single-family houses? Measurements of the actual energy yield in practice compared with the "nicely calculated" simulations? Probably not!

Best regards.

I don't understand this now...?!

Do I now have to prove the 15% and also have it from the heating system or not?

I actually just wanted to have a gas boiler, but now I have to additionally integrate either solar or a stove (pellet or wood) into the system.
