Hello,

I am looking for a garden fence with a height of 2 meters and opaque. It also needs to be stable enough to withstand a large dog.

Does anyone have an idea how I can arrange this cost-effectively?

Thank you in advance :-)

Best regards

If there are other people who are also looking for a solution to the privacy problem, I can present my solution to you. I am now having a chain-link fence installed with curbstones, and a privacy screen net (like those found on tennis courts) will be attached to it. It costs around 9000 euros and is the most cost-effective option I found after a long search. Best regards Bruenette

Hello,

so to list it precisely, the offer now includes:

-curbstones completely all around 8 cm thick
-the fence with sturdier posts than usual and tight mesh with 5 cm so that the fence can withstand the dog
-opaque green privacy foil completely all around
and all around, to allow the fence to be overgrown from the front, cherry laurel 80 cm high

So, that was very detailed now :-) And the dog coming next year will be a Magyar Vizsla, a Hungarian pointing dog. I hope the fence holds up to him ;-)

Kind regards
Bruenette

Hello,

we had the same problem, however, I couldn't really come to terms with a wire mesh fence. So we thought back and forth, compared, etc.
We then received an offer for a single rod panel fence from hagafrei. It wasn't as expensive as other options and is completely sufficient for our Australian Shepherd.
There was also a suitable privacy screen for the fence, but I think we'll do that in the next step.

Good, I don’t know how the fence for 9T€ looks visually, but in forestry/enclosure construction, the professionals charge between 7€ and 10€ per running meter including labor. For 105m, of course, they are reluctant, but even if you set double the price, you get a 2m high fence for 2T€ that no deer can jump over and no hare or wild boar can get through. Also no Hungarian pointing dog.

You would have to beautify it visually afterwards, but I think you can find a solution for 7T€.

You can also do it yourself:

Fence, fully galvanized, costs less than 100€ per 50m at that height, so a total max of €200.-
Cut, fully impregnated wooden posts 30 pieces (one post every 4m) at €20 each (an absolute crazy price, normally you pay 12-15€ each depending on thickness, split oak beams can be had between 5€ and 10€) ... max €600.-
Posts/beams are set/rammed with an excavator, takes no more than 20 minutes, 1 full hour with excavator costs including driver less than 100€
Attach fence with clamps by yourself, tension with the excavator (in the worst case costs another 100€ for machine/driver) ... total max 200€ plus a few drinks for the helpers.

If 2-3 people pitch in, it will be completely finished in 2 hours and for under €1000.-

Of the remaining 8T€, you will then have to necessarily invite the neighbors to a barbecue and plant some aesthetics.

Best regards
