Hello professionals.
Can I do it like this? Or what speaks against it?...
I built a garage last year. Interior finished. This year I want to do the facade on the outside. I do not need to insulate it.
I intend to realize the facade as follows (I’ve heard):
Attach 2cm Styrodur boards directly onto the masonry with dowels. There are special insulation dowels for this!
In the end, the entire exterior area will be covered with such Styrodur boards. When I have them on, I will plaster them with a fiberglass mesh. On top of that will come the final fine plaster or Capatect roughcast.
My specific concerns are now the dowelled boards on the bricks. Is that a good idea?
Or should one refrain from the boards here and rather apply a roughcast instead?
Please provide lots of experience reports / hints.
Best regards, Jürg
