One year ago, we had our house (built in 1960) completely renovated - ETICS, new windows, new roof, ...
In the meantime, numerous cracks have formed in the window area. It is particularly severe at the balcony door. There, a gap about 1 cm wide has formed between the ETICS and the window connection.
The painter wants to smear silicone in there to close the opening. However, we generally have bad experiences with silicone, as it becomes porous after years. We want a "permanent" solution and not have to replace the silicone every few years. In addition, we are concerned that small thermal bridges may form there.
It is important to us that the whole thing is sealed so that no moisture can get behind the ETICS. We are now afraid of possible mold formation.
To illustrate, a few pictures

- Is silicone permissible for such work?
- Are there possibly special materials for filling such cracks and gaps?
Thank you very much.
