Hello everyone,

I have a question about the opening angle of the front door.
We have a very wide entrance, the front door should be in the middle, with fixed glazed side panels 1m wide each on the right and left.

We had actually decided on a front door that overlaps the frame on both sides, but the opening angle is only about 110° and not 180°.

Does anyone perhaps have something like that? I could imagine that it might be annoying in everyday life if the door cannot be opened completely up to the wall, right? Perhaps it would be better to take a door that only overlaps the frame on one side after all?

I can only say that my in-laws have a front door that opens towards the wall (I estimate just about 100°-110°), simply because there's a heater/wall there, and that has never been a problem. In our apartment, due to the cramped hallway conditions (jackets hanging on the wall perpendicular to the door in the way), it is only about 80°, which I find too little. But basically, I think it depends on the individual case; if there is no wall behind (or beside?) the door, then I think a door that opens "fully" would probably be more sensible. I can imagine that in everyday life one might accidentally try to push the 110° limit (through too much momentum or wind), and whether that is beneficial for the door in the long run...

Ours can also be opened completely and we also have over 3m door clearance - would not do without that.

Everything over 90 is in my opinion absolutely fine and no longer brings any advantage unless you want to go behind the door!?

Thank you, I also think that the 180 degrees are definitely more practical. Our children will surely push the door open with full force more often, that definitely wouldn't be good. I'm really glad that I noticed this in the AB. We wouldn't have been informed beforehand, we would have looked silly.

, I don't understand your post?

In his place, I wouldn't have written anything different either, especially since even the wall had to be modified because of the door.
