I never said you should mount them closer later on.

As far as I heard, it's not about the pictures falling off or anything like that, but about mold potentially forming behind the pictures. I can't really believe that completely, or rather, I don't want to believe it because my bare walls bother me.

A picture is not a picture and hanging is not hanging. I would not immediately screw a picture onto aluminum or glass. A picture acrylic on canvas with a stretcher frame is not a problem. Hanging on nylon from a rail is something different than a hook. Think carefully about each picture and the mounting. A golden rule is nonsense.

Yes, unfortunately that can happen – and it did happen to us. Luckily only in the open stairwell and there only on a few pictures facing the basement. So I glued small felt or rubber pads to the corners of the frames behind the pictures. This makes each picture stand a few millimeters away from the wall, but since then, there have been no more problems.

good question. With us, after plastering, the HKV was screwed directly to the wall. The plaster was only a few days old then. The walls are interior walls. Has anyone got "experience values" or should there be concerns raised??

What is HKV?

I think we dare to hang a picture (Acrylic painting on canvas 140x70) and put something behind it as a spacer. I will observe it and remove it immediately if it warps.

We have also hung large mirrors without any concerns,? however on interior walls.
