Hello dear ones,
What do you think about a freestanding bathtub?
I am also happy about pictures and ideas.
Best regards, Jana

I don't like it. It simply takes up way too much space if it is to be reasonably usable and cleanable, and it only pays off if an unexpected guest is found there in a crime scene-appropriate manner and commercially exploited on TV.

How often do you use it otherwise? If you can place it in front of a huge window front, and behind it there is nothing for over 50-100m, then you can do something like that, but even then... it only pays off for Tatort.

It's nothing when you have children.

Otherwise, with plenty of space, why not ...

Cleaning behind it (somewhere there will be an area that is harder to reach) would be too cumbersome for me. Besides, I like it flush against the wall – that way you also have the possibility to plan a larger storage surface.

We enjoy the freestanding bathtub every week

Since it was my wife's wish, we accordingly planned the main bathroom. It is 1.80 by 1.00 meters and stands with enough distance from the wall (at least one meter of space all around) angled in the corner. I can't immediately think of any advantages or disadvantages compared to a wall solution.

Cleaning is possible without difficulties, simply swiping around the outside and done. We also have enough storage space since the rim of the tub is wide and there is a shelf at the faucet – and if needed, a small side table is placed next to it for drinks, etc.

It is simply the highlight in the bathroom. And for us, a kind of luxury we wanted to afford.

I find freestanding bathtubs very elegant, but I am not sure if the thermal insulation is good. I could imagine that the bathwater cools down quite quickly there.
