Foundation Stone / Time Capsule - From Where and To Where?

now that our construction is about to begin imminently, we have also been thinking about a foundation stone or a time capsule.

We have already decided what should go in it, we are now only wondering where we can get a suitable container...

We are thinking of a metal tube that can be closed at both ends (perhaps with a screw cap).

However, we haven't found anything reasonable online right away.

Does anyone here happen to have an idea where we could get such a tube (diameter approx. 5 cm, length 20 - 30 cm)?

We would then embed the tube in the foundation slab, or is there anything speaking against that?

I wouldn't want to invest too much money in it anyway, since it is rather a sentimental undertaking. Take a look at the Swedish store (cans in abundance), at Nanunana or similar shops. Or, if you feel like some entertaining crafting, you could, for example, redesign a "already popped or savings tin." Lids - for example for dog or cat food - are also available for a small price. KG pipe works too...

We would then embed the pipe into the base plate, or is there something against that?

Where else would you put it?

we have already found something. Our local plumber still has one of those parts in stock.

At the laying of the foundation stone of our church in town, his great-great-grandfather (!!!) apparently made two such time capsules and only one was needed.

: Maybe I'm somehow old-fashioned, but a time capsule or a foundation stone just belongs to it for me.
