In fact, the German branch of a Dutch bank, which is often brokered by financial agents, just raised the interest rates today.... The American FED will only change its interest rates after the presidential elections, that much is clear. Everyone can form their own opinion about in which direction this will likely happen and what the signal means.

0.1%

If you increase 0.1 every week...

Every week 0.1 will hardly happen and even if it does... If inflation including salary also rises accordingly, I would even be okay with it...

As long as there’s no interest rate surge like last year in spring, the banks will always adjust with a steady hand. Your supermarket doesn’t suddenly increase the price of yogurt by 1 EUR overnight either. But even 0.10% easily costs a four- or even five-figure amount over the entire period, depending on the term and volume. We can gladly bring up this thread again at the end of the year and see how large the difference is then.

For your forwards, it is not only interesting how high the current interest rate level is, but also how steep the curve is. By "steep" we mean the slope between the 1-year interest rate and the 10- or 15-year interest rate. Because if interest rates rise and additionally the curve becomes steeper, you can forget about the idea of forward hedging. Then it becomes uneconomical.
