There are finishing strips and if you want, you can put scuff strips on them. Then the edge is perfectly straight. Our floor was exactly as you described yours. Water does not pass through. We could not use anything adhesive because water and sewage access to the house comes in underneath, and the lightning conductor is also grounded in that shaft. So we only have to attend to it every few years, but then the floor should be "reusable." We researched for a long time, but despite the price, we have been very satisfied for over a year now. Occasionally wipe damp (when the chimney sweep has been) and that's it.

Hello Michael,

I know that your question here is already several years old. I have bought a house with the same problem and I am sure that the basement floor is somewhat damp. How have you solved the problem since then, if I may ask?

We solved the problem with cheap Ikea carpet on some pathways and doormats at the workshop exit. However, our floor is dry. In that respect, the situation is not quite comparable.
