Flooring for Carport - Special Situation

We simply have gravel under the carport.

Crushed stone, slightly larger than the profile of car tires.

Oh dear....I would recommend putting the matter back where it belongs. It is the parking space for the car. Compare the prices with the floor costs of the living room, that was definitely cheaper :D Gravel or crushed stone doesn’t cause worries about stains, if needed just shovel some more on, no ruts.......and invest the money saved inside the apartment....or send it to me!

How would you solve the slope or the sealing of the concrete slab?

The concrete should not be affected by the water. A slope is not necessarily required. If the wind is unfavorable, there will just be a small puddle.

The water doesn’t, but the salt with which the streets are salted decomposes the concrete in 2-3 years. We had that in our old apartment. The costs would be enormous since even the pillars supporting the house were attacked at the base area. I would definitely protect the concrete, but unfortunately, I don’t know what is needed for that.

The next idea was a stone carpet. However, the first offer was at 250 EUR net per m² (WTF?)

I would have even laid a stone carpet throughout the entire house if it had been affordable for us. I like walking barefoot on it.

What possibilities would occur to you?

The point is, as already mentioned, to protect the concrete ceiling. This has to be done either by a slope or by a proper sealing. I don’t think there is a “nice” color that provides this protection. I don’t find your idea with the gravel so far-fetched at all; there are special gravel grids for that. But again, the question arises about sealing and the slope?

The topic is still актуал. Gradient screed has now been offered to me for 40 EUR/m² including grinding, priming, and an additional hardening agent. However, it would also need to be properly coated again. A sealant apparently always comes off again.

What do you think about a mineral sealing with, for example, sealing slurry, then a type of protective mat to protect the sealing, and after that, gravel? An upstand would then have to be made at the sides.
