Hello everyone,
we have bought an old building with two children's rooms. One of them is a walk-through room. I wanted to put the floor plan up for discussion here because I would like to separate the rooms as part of the renovation. The partition wall is not a load-bearing wall, so it can be easily modified. I would simply move the door to children's room 1 backwards and virtually create a right angle here. I have deleted the irrelevant points from the thread opening.

I would be happy to come across creative ideas because unfortunately, I am very uncreative.

Best regards,

Anforderungen der Bauherren
Design style, roof shape, building type - gable roof with dormers
Basement, floors - n/a
Number of people, age - 2 adults, children
Space requirements on ground floor, upper floor - for both children there should be space for a wardrobe, desk (which can also be custom made) and bed. I would place the desks in the dormers.

Hausentwurf
Who created the plan: - old building stock
What do you particularly like? Why? - that there are two sufficiently large rooms for the children
What do you not like? Why? - that one children's room is a walk-through room. That may be acceptable in the toddler years but is not practical later
Price estimate according to architect/planner: n/a
Personal price limit for the house, including equipment: n/a

Wenn Ihr verzichten müsst, on which details/extensions
-you can give up:
-you cannot give up: - two separate rooms

Warum ist der Entwurf so geworden, wie er jetzt ist? E.g.
Standard design from the planner? - old building stock

Was ist die wichtigste/grundlegende Frage zum Grundriss in 130 Zeichen zusammengefasst?
Is there perhaps a creative idea to design the new partition wall so that "smart niches" are created?

I agree.
I would leave the partition wall as it is. One room is a bit bigger, but then more angled.

Just try drawing in the intended furniture yourself. It won’t be a palace, but which child really needs that!

Hard to read, the plan. The subordinate information stands out more than what are or will be walls. It is also unclear what is existing and what is newly conceived, because apparently quite a bit has already been erased.

If it is going to be renovated anyway, I would move the partition wall about 30cm towards the bottom of the plan to achieve the size balance. And if one or two square meters remain as a hallway to the left of the chimney, two accesses will automatically result. At least that's how I see it.

I will digitize the sketch tomorrow and then also draw in my version.

Hello everyone,

unfortunately I don’t have a professional tool for floor plans, but I tried to tidy up the floor plan. I created and uploaded two variants.

What do you think? Do you maybe have some clever ideas?

I marked the knee walls in gray. They have a height of 1m before the slope starts.

I placed the desks by the windows.

I look forward to the comments.

Best regards

Personally, I find option 2 better. In both cases, the small plot of land cannot be used for anything big anyway. With option 2, however, there is more space in the room and still plenty of room next to the wardrobe. You can definitely create good storage space with a shelf/dresser here, and when the child gets older, a larger wardrobe is also possible. The room will probably also feel more open and spacious, as the sharp edge is eliminated.
