And the living room is too dark
Yes. Why is there no window facing south? The house is planned completely backwards in terms of lighting. Living spaces, especially children's rooms and dining rooms, should ideally "feel" the southern sun. The kitchen can also tolerate daylight. The living room is a matter of taste for some people; if it's only used as a TV room in the evening, it can face away from the light. But if you play with the children in the living room during the day, it belongs on the sunny side. In bathrooms, utility rooms, and the master bedroom, the sun is pretty useless; these rooms are therefore usually oriented to the north.
A site plan or excerpt from the development plan or something similar often helps to understand why the builder might have needs that deviate from these standards (for example, a noisy main road or an ugly high-rise to the south, etc.).
Please provide that afterwards. Valuable clues can be obtained here. But it only works if you are not stingy with information yourself.
