Hello everyone, I need your tips. We have our floor plan which we are also satisfied with. Only the staircase is giving me trouble. I can't decide. But I definitely want a staircase with a landing. Now there are 2 options to choose from. However, one takes up a lot of space and the other is right at the front door. Do you have any ideas

I prefer option 2. This way, the staircase further divides the house, and when you go up and down, you don't always have to pass by the front door.

I find the hallway in front of the stairs to the WC very narrow in variant 2 (i.e. real landing stairs). There is no suitable dimension available, but compared to the door dimensions it will probably be about 1.0-1.1m wide. The advance space is also 1.2m.

In our current apartment, the corridor has a rough dimension of 1.15m. I wouldn’t want it any narrower.

Also, in your case, the hallway is about 5m long, which is not exactly short. Due to the lack of windows, it will probably become quite dark.

So I would prefer the 90° stairs. The entrance appears much bigger and friendlier than with the real landing stairs.

But without exact dimensions and also plans of the upper floor, it is hard to assess.

BTW: the house lengths are not identical (12.50 vs. 13.00m). Is that intentional?

You can take a look at our plan, it is not a classic podium staircase, a split one. No idea what the exact term for this is:

Attached is also an example picture of how it can look in real life. We are currently looking at a few examples of what would be possible, brick or with railing, natural stone or tiles, with or without an overhang...

The upper floor is not 100 percent fixed yet, it depends on the stairs. I don’t have any other measurements yet either. The different house lengths are intentional, you notice everything...

The shared staircase also takes up a lot of space. And it becomes cramped and dark. I am now leaning more towards the 1/4 turn (is that what it’s called?) What I really don’t like is when you open the door and immediately have the staircase.
