Hey, we are planning a single-family house (urban villa), approx. 158 m², 5 rooms, without a basement, with a double garage/workshop. We are relatively sure about what we want and what we don’t want. However, we are especially pondering over the kitchen. More on that below.
Development plan/restrictions
--> Does not play a role here IMHO.
Requirements of the builders
1.) Semi-open kitchen without island. Semi-open means open to the dining/living room, but not fully visible to guests sitting at the dining table. One corner should remain where dirty dishes or other unsightly things can be stacked.
2.) In the living room, we would like to set up a long dining table if needed (4 times a year?) and accommodate about 16 people. The couch area can be considered as a seniors’ or children’s table. So there is actually enough space; it’s about the details of the floor plan design.
3.) 2 adults, 2 children live together in the house. Meals are eaten at the dining table near the kitchen. Usually, 8 dining seats are needed in total (rarely more).
House design
--> Design from the builder after consultation with us.
Specific questions/comments:
1.) The design shows a U-shaped kitchen. Our current kitchen furniture is already not enough to arrange an L-shape. Even with an L-shaped kitchen, we would have more workspace and cabinet volume than today. On the other hand, we would have to do without a 90 cm wall cabinet (wall cabinet where glasses are stored) because of the windows.
2.) The lower wall stub between the kitchen and living room (opposite the stairs) is too short for us. We want it longer so that the kitchen is not directly visible.
3.) The upper wall stub ... No idea.

The top of the floor plan is west. The terrace is located there.
Do you have any ideas or other helpful suggestions?
