I like it to be inviting. I also have sweets ready for the postman. Nice plants frame the entrance. I have a platform outside the entrance where you can also place a welcome lantern and plants. From my personal perspective, there is the issue with the practice: a car blocks the entrance, people who ring the doorbell cannot spread out or feel comfortable, they could leave scratches on the car, and so on and so forth. Your children also can’t just run outside, and you as a family can only enter at a snail’s pace.
