Floor plan design of a two-family house, city villa with a hipped roof

Why should I completely change the floor plans of both apartments when that is the desired basic layout for both parties. Additionally, individualization unnecessarily causes extra construction costs. To be specific, the floor plan suits us as it is. Now it is only about details on how to possibly optimize it further.

Because no party, whether family or rental to outsiders, has privacy. Period. See #10. No one is talking about complete changes. If you see it that way, then so be it. You are asking here, and it's not the only drawback, but it's the biggest. Then there's no need for another small wall to shift by 10 cm if the basic concept of the "two-family house" has failed. Privacy is planned in a two-family house – if not, the topic is missed.
