Hello everyone,
we are currently planning the floor construction for our house to be renovated.
The house is a partially basement bungalow.
We have removed the screed and insulation because underfloor heating and proper insulation are to be installed. The raw floor has different heights; the basement rooms are higher than the non-basement ones.
The current plan is therefore:
1. Styrofoam screed as leveling fill to bring all rooms to one level
2. On top of that Austrotherm Resolution insulation boards 5 cm
3. On top of that Uponor Classic cover foil and then wet-build system underfloor heating
4. On top of that classic heated screed 6-7 cm (exact height still to be determined by the screed company)
5. Floor covering
My question is: Does anyone here have experience with Austrotherm Resolution floor boards for thermal insulation? Or comparable resol hard foam products? The product specification makes me suspicious; it mentions a compressive strength of only 30 kPa (3 t/m2) at 10 % compression, while I read values between 100-300 kPa everywhere. Is the specification of 30 kPa realistic?
Because according to the manufacturer, this product is intended exactly for this use (insulation under screed). I have also already contacted the manufacturer to ask whether the information on the homepage is incorrect.
Thank you very much and best regards
Eike
