Do you have experience with filling (we are getting Q2 from the construction company), painting, and installing flooring (click vinyl) done by ourselves AFTER moving in? Of course, I know it would be better to do this BEFORE moving in. But I fear it will not be possible, or at best complicated and with additional costs. Parents with a 10-year-old child, 40-degree pitched roof, 112 sqm. Thanks,

Well, if you think about it yourself: How is that supposed to work? Maybe 1-2 rooms but not everything and definitely not kitchen, living room... Spackling and sanding makes an insane amount of mess, so there shouldn't be any furniture in the room otherwise you'll throw it away afterwards. Floors also only work if the room is empty. You're really not doing yourself any favors with that.

The rooms that are moved into directly must be finished. At least bathrooms, bedrooms, (children's rooms), kitchen (because of the kitchen fitter) must be finished. You can do the rest afterwards. But you always have to wear shoes when you go from the bed to the toilet, everywhere there is screed dirt, sanding is a huge mess, and you WON'T have more time THEN than NOW.

If you subtract bathrooms and kitchen from the 112m² (because hopefully someone is tiling that for you), only 90m² remain, you can do the laminate together in one day if you work hard. And if the whole house is [spitzt] (not rolled) it can be done alone in one day, if there are no doors and floors inside yet, and before that someone spent half a day taping the windows. Another half day to apply acrylic before...

The problem is the sanding, depending on the requirements, and whether you are stupid enough to bring a construction spotlight for grazing light, it often takes forever. Without a strong vacuum and sanding giraffe, you can forget it anyway. On the other hand, if a bit more rustic is acceptable. Today quickly after work to [toom], tomorrow after work the first sanding and filling, Saturday the second sanding and filling, then vacuuming and taping. Sunday spraying the house. Sounds like a great weekend, right? Monday call in KO at work and pack boxes half dead =)

Better to rent a holiday apartment for a month with additional costs than to live with sanding dust; you ruin every piece of furniture, including the new kitchen. This is definitely not something that can just be vacuumed up. Keep in mind: this is fine dust, and the required respiratory mask makes that clear. Never in a new building.

Yes, that's exactly how it is.

We have neighbors who have finished sanding and filling. Living room, bedroom, guest bathroom and kitchen fully wallpapered and tiled. Then moved in, him, her, cat. Then during ongoing use cleaning and painting everything else including hallway and staircase. They would never do it again. And at that point the sanding dust was already out of the house and still constantly dirt.
