For two people? My husband has 8 jackets throughout the year, I have about 10 or so. Shoes around 30. And I’m not a collector or anything. My husband also has about 20 for the whole year. And you come with a free space that could accommodate a chest of drawers for scarves and such, but not all the jackets and bags of a large family.

The partition of the upper floor was actually only considered as an option in about 25 years, of course, it would then be structurally adapted.

The central wall of the house is a load-bearing wall! Where do you want to adjust anything there? Who wants a living toilet for old age?
