We are currently in the planning phase for our single-family home in the south of Hamburg.

We are planning a "somewhat" more complex electrical installation for our house:

* KNX bus system
* DALI bus system for the lamps
* Control of the underfloor heating
* Control of the shading
* ...

The planning for the positions of switches, sockets, PM, etc., as well as the planning of the cable routing and the planning of the distribution cabinet is already quite advanced.

To save costs and also out of personal interest, we want to carry out a larger portion of the electrical installation ourselves. Due to my electrical engineering studies, I also feel confident to carry out many things myself.

Since we are building with an architect, we are basically very flexible, but I still wonder how to best find a craft business that is open to own work?

Perhaps someone here even has a recommendation for a company in our region?

How do you imagine that? The master sends one of two journeymen home and lets you do it without knowing if you are doing it correctly? Or he stays in the office and writes invoices until his journeyman and you are finished

in any case - he can only have disadvantages because he lets a stranger tamper with his work. And he is supposed to provide a warranty by law for that. Either you do everything yourself, e.g. with a buddy from the sports club, or you let the professional handle it.

Otherwise, the only advice left is: make phone calls (yellow pages) and inquire. Maybe I am completely wrong and the [Handwerksbetriebe] are waiting for more complex jobs ;).

[Buchholzer Raum]?

Call and state your concern. You might be lucky at the moment. That your project is being served when the trainee has vocational school or inter-company training. Then 2 hands are missing to assist. I would never say never at this time. Here a tile stove builder even offered that. Master work and stove from him, the rest from the customer.

This constellation is not attractive for electricians. Prepare your request as concretely as possible: What do you want to do, how does it differ from the electrician's work, what is the impact on warranty claims... It is quite simple if you accept the electrician's work from a defined point in time and do the rest yourself. It becomes complicated if the electrician has to rely on your preliminary work.

That is basically no problem. You just have to make a few calls and possibly use relevant portals. You do the preliminary work, he supervises and then accepts the system. Including the E-Check. Although you don’t get a warranty, it is the right procedure for the insurance, for example. Full insurance coverage in case something happens. By the way, it is a common procedure. Especially with the installation of underfloor heating, it is usual for the builders to take on that part and for the craft company to accept the service.
