The excavation has less to do with the house...

Yes, the glass system is expensive and special. >600k
There are over 50 meters of glass.
But the money doesn't matter to me. We make (smaller) savings in other areas.

No, they can't do it in that form. But they are great from a marketing perspective. Berger SwissFineLine is what we ended up with. In general, you see only few reference projects from such manufacturers and certainly not publicly. Everyone can guess the reasons...

They are just as beautiful! I even have a brochure from SwissFine Line , we can't afford more.

Swissfineline is really great. Both in terms of design and quality. A Swiss family business, after all. But certainly not priced for the mass market. If you don’t have very special requirements, there are several manufacturers who can deliver great windows at reasonable prices. Now back to the topic: - for the kitchen, we missed our target by about 50% - lamps by 300% There have certainly been a few other items so far. But all of that is self-inflicted. Only excavation and disposal of the demolition was bad luck.

What does "it fit" mean?
Our project no longer has anything to do with the original budget ideas.
The responsibility for this lies solely with us; no tradesman or service provider came up with unpleasant surprises. We knew that the extreme slope would pose a risk, and that has indeed occurred. Furthermore, we are aware that our many detailed decisions, which usually lead to a more aesthetic execution in case of doubt, are rarely budget-friendly.
Unlike many here, we are not young builders but somewhat older and have already experienced some financial development. Therefore, we act differently today than in 2001, when we moved into the current terraced house with parental support.
This summer we will have spent about twice as much as we initially planned with a different design just over two years ago after purchasing the plot, and we are happily moving in. In this respect, one can say: "it fits extremely well." Only the parents are a bit sad that we are leaving the area by about an hour's drive.
