Hello, in our condominium under construction, we swapped the toilet and shower during bathroom planning. Now the level shower tray measuring 1x1m is 3-5 cm too small. The tiler simply built a shelf at the bottom, see picture. But somehow I still can’t quite get used to it and think it somehow looks odd (maybe I’m being too picky and once it’s grouted it will look good). Problem is, the wall has to stay because that’s where the riser shaft is. The aluminum strips are for LED strips, so a half-height shelf wouldn’t be possible either. To cover it up, I thought about attaching the folding glass door on the side. Are there other ways to disguise something like this or am I overreacting a bit? In hindsight, the shower could also have been tiled but a flat shower tray does have a considerable cleaning advantage. What do you think? Am I overdoing it?

You can cover that up with a battery of shower gels and shampoos for the whole family ;) No, seriously: the hairdresser is right, after grouting it looks normal.

What confuses me is the front drain. With a flat shower tray and a bit more flow, the water goes over the shower into the room, doesn't it?

The plumber must have already taken care of that... I hope so. Thanks for the feedback, that reassures me :D. Ah, you often get hung up on such little things.

The other way around, in case of an overflow, my LED strips would fill up, or rather get thoroughly sprayed. But I will look up what the standard is. The shower enclosure made of glass is still to come. Thanks for the hint. I’m curious how it will look when finished and whether the shelf will look shoddy.
