We ourselves do not have any, but we have already used such whirlpools in various holiday homes - certainly more than 5.

Although I am a big fan of whirlpools, these have unfortunately consistently disappointed me, despite sometimes being from reputable brands. Sometimes more, sometimes less. In an enclosed room, they are simply far too loud for me, so the desired wellness factor does not come into play. In addition, the strength was usually only adjustable on two levels. Likewise, the massage function is generally not comparable to a real whirlpool.

So I would not get a whirlpool bath. I would rather have a real whirlpool in the garden =)

We have one here in the apartment building. From 1998 - still works well, but it is incredibly loud, so I definitely can't relax. And because the child next door is sleeping, it can't be used at all in the evenings. I can't judge how much quieter the technology has become in the last 20 years, but I would never install such a thing myself. And it does get musty if you don't flush it regularly, yes.

I am a bathtub fan myself and always wanted to have one. But after the advice of my plumbing expert, I gave up on it. Primarily because of the noise, the cleaning effort, and the susceptibility to limescale buildup. The effort around it is too much for me, as are the costs. Better to invest the money in a good tub with an appropriate lying surface and comfort. What is left over can then be invested in bathroom design so that the eye is not neglected.
