Are these the prices with construction as a white tank, meaning with WU concrete? I think you have to add about 5000 EU for that, right?

Hello everyone,

sorry for the late response - we moved on February 21st and Telekom still hasn't managed to get our internet connection running...

Honestly, I am very surprised at how the walls and window reveals look at your place.

At our place, it has looked like this from the very beginning:

Dirk

Hello,

A "white tank" – I am always amazed that this term is still used nowadays, as it originally means a "basement in a basement system" – it is not defined "only" by the concrete used.

WU concrete stands for [B]water[B]tight concrete; the most commonly used concrete type for prefabricated basements. To achieve the so-called white tank here, a specific type of sealing is required (depending on the soil survey), which is specified by the DIN. The costs can vary – depending on the basement size and requirements – between EUR 5,000 and 10,000.

Rhenish regards

You can already see from a distance that the window reveal looks cleaner. As mentioned on the other side, maybe some fuss should have been made during installation, but appointments and time, I know—it's always easier to talk about afterwards. Still sad to see again, exceptions prove the rule and despite many good results, disputes keep happening.

Would it be possible, for example, to inspect the cellar elements at Glatthar’s factory, to get an idea of the walls, etc.? That would also be a point to possibly discuss topics in advance. May I ask which system you chose? Double-shell and filled on site with cast concrete? Are the walls really as sold, "smooth like plastered"? Possibly also the price per m²? Of course, feel free to send it via PM.

You have described it perfectly again. I now see that the prefabricated cellars are even tighter due to the double-shell variant and the cast on-site version, element by element. But as you said, the "white tank" needs to be interpreted differently.

From a soil report, it should be clear to the manufacturer which variant (DIN) is required for a cellar in the intended area, right?

What does "element to element" mean?

Of course. After the soil sample, the expert creates the analysis and then issues so-called foundation recommendations; sometimes several. The subsequent trades are well advised to stick to these recommendations.

Hello,

I unfortunately do not know if it is possible to inspect the walls at the plant. However, based on how we got to know the company, I cannot imagine that such an inspection would not be possible.

Our basement consists of the double-walled wall elements, which were then poured on site.

One side of the wall was (apart from the joints) perfectly smooth, so we were able to wallpaper directly over it – the backside, however, still had to be sanded – but this was known to us in advance.

I cannot give you an exact price; we ordered the basement as a Weberit basement directly from the house manufacturer, and therefore the basement price of about EUR 50,000 was included in the house price.

As a special feature, we also have waterproofing against rising seepage water and external insulation. The approx. EUR 50,000 also includes underfloor heating in the hallway and guest room (approx. 24 sqm) as well as flooring in the hallway and wall coverings in the hallway and stairwell, as well as four doors.

Regards,

Dirk
