Yes, we still park the petrol car next to the wallbox. We would both like an electric car, but currently I can't find an economical way to switch. We have 2 petrol cars (very small ones), and actually only need 1 car anymore, but even that only very rarely, so buying a relatively new electric car would be totally uneconomical. We don't even drive 5000 km per year. On the other hand, our two cars are getting too small, the Audi A1 is currently our "big family car," it's always like playing Tetris when we travel. And my husband would like a Tesla (so would I), and I would finally like the triple bingo, then we'll just buy it. ^^

Unfortunately, only new cars are subsidized, so it is not necessarily more expensive than an unsubsidized used one. Have you done the math? We are just waiting for the lease on our old car to run out, then the new one can take its place.

Ideal conditions for leasing a small electric car. Perfect for being able to drive a new car for very little money, e.g.:

Didn't you maybe want to build or renovate far away?
Then quite quickly a lot of kilometers could accumulate.
I would decide on that topic first before choosing a car.

PS: Tesla is really fascinating. When I look out from our office, I have a view of a newly opened Tesla dealership. In the last 2 weeks, they have put hundreds of Teslas in front of the door with trucks and then processed them just as quickly. Pickups were organized every minute. They apparently have 6 minutes for delivery, everything else is done online.

Yeah, but we're putting the car topic on the back burner for now. At the moment, the current situation still somehow works. Yeah, it's crazy what goes on with them. But the cars are pretty amazing too. My sister has a Model 3. Before Christmas, we drove to the supermarket together. When we got out of town, she used the gas pedal – if you're not used to it, it pushes you back into the seat, you feel like you're on a roller coaster.
