I have already received the letter twice, the first time I was still able to ignore it :) The letter is titled "Proof of non-commercial construction work carried out," so also a list with individual trades in which I am supposed to fill something out/must fill something out.

So assume that it is about the request for notification.

Yes, they have their own company and have helped me. Would you proactively take action there or just note the companies on the letter? It could of course be that invoices will be requested then – although I can still react to that. They are companies – but also friends.

Do you know what questions to expect there?

Ignoring is pretty much the worst thing you can do. A friend did that too and then got visited every three months by the field sales representative, who documented the current progress.

The attached information sheet basically contains everything you need to know, including case examples. It is also available for download on the homepage.
You may only list companies for the trades if you actually have an invoice, as they themselves have to pay contributions.
And if you notice a business-like activity of your buddies, you must also inform [BG Bau] (best to ask by phone about the exact procedure). Nevertheless, you have to record the hours your buddies worked on the roof structure; [BG Bau] needs to know how many hours you do not want to claim.

In any case, you must take action!

Thanks for the hint. I hadn’t thought about it at all and had somehow pushed it aside. There has been no visit so far, at least none that I am aware of. There is no information sheet in the letter. Do you know what it might be called? I’ll look for it on their homepage. So am I right in understanding: Record hours in any case If it represents entrepreneurial activity (i.e., own company) and I’m being helped, then it is treated differently than if friends without a trade license were helping me.
