Why should it be hardly usable on its own? I think the selected bathtub looks like the standard model from Kaldewei, but three times as expensive...

Duo bathtubs are not larger than regular ones. It is logical that with the same size and the same lying surface, a tub with two slopes has steeper slopes than a slope that runs more gently.

Is that thinking too slanted now?

Clearly, the tubs are larger because of the slopes – and the slopes run the same – whether solo or duo – that's the "clou" of a duo, because it is symmetrical.

And the central drain doesn’t get in the way when bathing alone?

Why should he? I'm not sitting in the middle anyway - besides, with us (Kaldewei Duo) the part is flush with the floor.

Exactly, we also have the Kaldewei Vaio Duo with Antislip (that's what the knobs are called on this tub), it is 210cm long and there is enough space for two people and you can also sit well in it alone. The drain is in the middle and why should that be disturbing? Only when getting up can you step on the stopper and close it again if you wanted to drain the water beforehand. Otherwise, a great tub, in my opinion.
