Hello dear forum members,
I have a question that is difficult for me to answer.
Starting point:
At the moment it looks like my parents own a plot of land including a house in which I still live.
Now I have considered purchasing a small additional piece of land adjacent to the existing plot in order to place a second house next to it. However, the building authority informed me that a minimum distance of 6 meters to the next house is required. Since the plot is in the middle of the city, I can only build if I build just a few meters from the current house...
Therefore, the existing living space would need to be extended. This would allow me to "bypass" the 6 meter rule.
Now my actual question:
How would the two houses need to be connected in order for the extension of living space to be recognized? It would be nice if the two houses could be connected with a simple wall, but my common sense tells me that the new house must either be directly integrated into the existing one or is there also the possibility to install an outside door into the existing house and connect it with a roof or kind of tunnel over 2-3 meters, so that the house still stands relatively separate?
Thank you very much.
I hope I was able to explain my concern somewhat clearly.
