Exchange Ikea MAXIMERA drawer

I, Horst, bought and assembled a large Maximera drawer today, only to realize THEN that I actually needed a medium one. :oops: Now I plan to return this one and buy the right size, but I'm not sure whether I should take it apart first or return it assembled?

Do you have any experience with this?

If you can pack the parts neatly back into the box, disassemble them. If that is not possible, leave them assembled. What is ultimately preferred in the respective [EH] or whether they couldn't care less is unknown anyway.

Then leave them assembled. No one will demand to disassemble them. Of course, do not leave the railing on.

If you buy the new one first, then you can replace the rails. I would just find it annoying to go back and forth in addition to the car.

I have already bought a MAXIMERA with medium height and made a tall one with a single back panel from the bargain bin. Almost everything is the same with the drawers.

There are indeed 2 different rails, depending on the load capacity. At least for the 80 cm wide drawers, there are rails with orange plastic inserts. These are intended for higher loads. They are also each fastened to the cabinet with 2 additional screws. I'm just not sure right now whether they are included with all 80 cm drawers or only with the medium and high ones.

Thank you. It is only about exchanging an excerpt 40x60 high for medium. According to the number, the rails are the same, as I have now checked. Since I don't have a car anyway, I will first go get the new one today, set it up, and then see how best to return the rest in which form. :)
