Hello forum, on our property there is a wooden cabin of about 3.5x5 m on a concrete slab. It would have to be removed if we want to build there. Does anyone know what costs for demolition and disposal are reasonable? As far as can be seen, no problematic materials (Eternit or similar) have been used. The site is easily accessible. Best regards!

I simply posted an ad on MyHammer for the demolition of an entire residential building and already had a good idea of the cost after just a few days.

Hello,

MyHammer is an option, but I recommend looking very closely when reviewing offers, especially for a demolition...

We also thought that not much could go wrong with a demolition, but we were still more than surprised by which companies (building cleaners, tilers, security service...) submitted offers for the demolition of the old single-family house.

As long as everything goes well, the low price usually paid off. But if problems occur, such as damage to third-party property (excavator or truck hits the neighbor's building), it quickly becomes unpleasant if the company possibly does not have liability insurance for these activities.

My advice: make an appointment with two or three demolition companies from the region and have an offer made.

I would even consider having only the foundation removed by one company. Such a "small" wooden hut can easily be taken apart on a Saturday during a demolition party with a few friends...

Regards,

Dirk

Thank you already for your tips. I am not familiar with MyHammer, but I can change that.... The demolition party sounds good - however, the hut or the shed is quite high (estimated 3.5m), which I find a bit dangerous for inexperienced people to tear down. bg td

Hello,

we demolished a garden shed and a two-story shed with a few friends on our property.

First covered, then dismantled piece by piece.

It was a lot of fun.

However, for the house, we also let professionals handle it...

Regards,

Dirk

And it only costs a few steaks and beer.... Did you dispose of the waste with the container? - As wood waste? The walls of our cabin from the GDR era consist of a kind of fiberboard panels with styrofoam. Maybe that even makes dismantling easier. The roof structure is made of solid wood with roofing felt. And huge hornet nests, which are uninhabited :eek
