Hello,

we are considering coating the concrete screed in our house with epoxy resin and having a floor with a concrete look through the epoxy.

Does anyone know anything about the costs for the floor per sqm (excluding the screed, since it is required anyway)?

Are there any significant disadvantages?

Thank you very much for your answers.

hi,

I would also be interested. As far as I could find out, it is not easy to achieve a nice (crack-free, smooth, even) floor.
A colleague of mine showed me photos of his - rather unsuccessful floor, with the recommendation not to choose the cheapest screed installer...

It probably makes sense to trust a company that has experience with epoxy resin floors and is not doing it for the first time. They will certainly charge accordingly more for the installation.

We are currently also considering whether to do it, I would appreciate knowledgeable answers.

Design screed based on cement or anhydrite costs about 130 E/sqm (in the Berlin area) up to 150 E/sqm (in southern Germany). Cost drivers are the up to 8 grinding passes necessary to achieve a good surface. Material is not that significant.

Epoxy resin is not a natural material; the mixture and the exact mixing ratio are very important. In case of doubt, the stuff off-gasses forever and there are always harmful substances in the air.

If you want an "artificial-looking" floor surface, take a look at solid color linoleum. It is better than its reputation!

Hello, we had about 50 sqm of microcement design installed in our living room. It creates an exclusive surface, but we did not pay 150 € per sqm for it. The installation and walkability was quite fast. Next up is the kitchen. The company is located in Bottrop and apparently also works nationwide. I am happy to share the contact as well.

Hello,

We are also considering installing a seamless floor surface throughout the entire ground floor of our new building.

Marco07: could you give us the contact address regarding your experience?! Bottrop is not too far from us, so we would like to get more information.

Best regards

Hello everyone,

I will soon have a seamless floor surface installed as well. For about 100sqm.

I will report back. Photos and details will follow shortly...
