Hello everyone,

During the demolition of a ruin, the demolition company damaged the previously flawless driveway in front of the property with a tracked vehicle.

I was not there, but it can be assumed that the driveway was not protected.

Is the demolition contractor required to compensate for the damage?

If you can prove it, then of course he has to fix it. Judging by the pictures, at first glance, it does not look like a fresh damage but rather a "normal" subsidence.

Do you have pictures of the condition before the deployment? Often the companies themselves take pictures to document pre-existing damages but if the damage is new, such things also tend to "get lost."

I don’t have any pictures from before. Each of the 20 driveways on the street is in top condition, they are only 5-6 years old. Only mine is no longer like that. I will send the company a letter tomorrow and make a complaint.

Sorry, but without having seen it exactly, the damages look like they have been like that for a longer time. And even a blind person can see that. In the depressions there are small stones as residues and dirt from water that once stood there. All joints are perfectly filled and nothing is broken open from settlements that have occurred recently. So if you really don't have pictures of the previous condition, it will be very difficult. I think the pictures speak a clear language, and that is clearly against you. Sorry

So when I look at the green on the fence, it looks to me as if it has settled like that for a longer time, it doesn't look like it is only a few days old. And even if it were, the person who laid the pavement did not compact it properly.

A tracked vehicle does not make such indentations. More likely the trucks. Was that your own construction site?
