Electricity/water supply during construction period, who bears the cost of electricity?

Our building specifications state that the construction site will be supplied with electricity and water and secured at the expense of the construction company during the construction period. However, now we are supposed to apply for the temporary power connection, and the construction contractor will then cover the electricity costs during the construction period. Has anyone had similar experiences? When I read that the construction site is "supplied," I actually assume that I don't have to pay anything for it anymore?

What exactly does it say there, where do you get that from?

As far as I know, the builder is always responsible for the supply lines. It is also "your" supplier.
It’s the same for us; the contractor pays the ongoing costs. We have to submit the appropriate applications to our suppliers (Wasserverbund, EWE) and have licensed craftsmen make the connections. These connections are then later extended to the house.

The installation and rental of the construction power box often costs around €1000 .... your construction provider probably didn't mention that.... :D
