Good evening! In recent days and hours, something has occupied me very strongly, which is why I also made use of a registration. My girlfriend and I moved into an apartment on New Year's, which is absolutely fine in itself, but the landlord cut off the electricity for about 72 hours. After a brief search on the Internet, I realized that this is not lawful. I don't really want to waste much energy on it, but as we found out, it was apparently intentional. It would mean that we paid the rent too late, which was indeed the case, but there were more misunderstandable reasons. Well, since then we have been somewhat at odds, and the audacity was completed by cutting off the electricity. My question concerns the topic of "rent reduction." I had read that in some cases there have been 100% rent reductions because the electricity supply for the kitchen, hot water, and lighting was not available. Quote:
Okay, a clear statement, but the following questions arise for me: a) Can I claim anything for this short period at all? Or do I have a right to it? b) Is it possible to choose a rent reduction for a limited period? (In this case, the month of April) c) How many percent are roughly possible? I wonder if it is worth it. As students, a few euros less rent would definitely be useful. Thank you for your effort and I hope this text is understandable. Good night and see you in the next few days. I will be notified via email. I hope my incompetence doesn't bother anyone. Many thanks fcbfan69AG Berlin-Neukölln (MM 1988, 151): 100 % rent reduction if there is a complete outage of electricity supply for lighting, kitchen, and hot water.
