How far along is everything already?

Personally, I stick to the old saying: If you know radio, you use cable. So far, I haven't heard any desire for anything to be smart. Why don't you just do a completely normal conventional wiring? I see radio as a retrofit solution, but as the past has shown, it often only has a short half-life. The manufacturer changes the standard and the old system becomes obsolete.

Don't let it drive you crazy. There's nothing "smart" about bus cables themselves; the programming is what makes it smart. With KNX, you have far more possibilities, but you also need a license costing a few hundred euros and should be able to (and want to) deal with it...

If in the end, you have to call the programmer for every change, it gets expensive.

Not everyone has parquet flooring for 120 EUR/m² and an S-Class in the heated double garage. However, you’ve landed here in a forum where everything under KNX is considered social housing ;)

In a new building, I would do everything by cable. But if you really want wireless, take a look at EnOcean. The wireless switches do not require a battery.
