Hello dear community,

we are currently upgrading from timber frame construction to a masonry bungalow. An electrician was hired for the electrical work, who was supposed to provide consulting support and I was to lay the conduits etc. according to his specifications. Unfortunately, the gentleman is very chaotic and does not always manage to answer my questions satisfactorily. He throws out things like Smart Home is possible but doesn’t follow through, etc. All in all, unsatisfactory.
I now have some questions and hope for constructive input here.
First a fundamental question:
Is it possible to control lighting in a room completely via wireless switches? That is, no direct connection between the light switch and the fixture. For me, this would have the advantage that I wouldn’t have to lay an extra conduit to the light, but could feed the fixture from one box.
The actuator would then be located directly at the light output. I also see this advantage for outdoor lighting, not having to lay an extra conduit to the switches.
If yes, what disadvantages do you see in this.

Overall, I would like to control blinds, Venetian blinds (actuator in the box), and the lighting wirelessly. A video doorbell system would also be nice. The blinds and Venetian blinds could be natively integrated with Somfy (Tahoma). However, I would then be limited to one system. Even if Zigbee is supported, other Zigbee components are not automatically compatible with the system.
So I am looking for a non-closed wireless system that is relatively maintenance-free, expandable, established, and ideally inexpensive.

The mentioned electrician always referred to the system from LeGrand. He probably means Valena Life / Allure with Netatmo. Unfortunately, I can’t find any reports about this.
What is your opinion about this and your views regarding my requirements.

I look forward to your opinions and suggestions.

phew, right now during the shell construction of the extension and thinking about a makeshift solution (radio) I consider the wrong approach. But that's just my humble opinion. But you did ask for it ;-)

I would lay signal cables (the green KNX or Cat7a) to switches and run power in a star topology to the consumers, then actuators into the control cabinet. This way you are free in choosing the "smarthome system" and can always add radio later (although I don't recommend it)

At the latest when window contacts are added, 2 per window to detect tilted/opened, one will switch back to wireless. And if you already have wireless anyway, there is no longer any need to work with bus cables...

Thank you for your answers I know that the starting situation is anything but great. The problem is that I relied too much on the electrician. My mistake. My main concern is that I want to control the lights, roller shutters, and venetian blinds not via direct wire but via radio. Ideally, the actuators should be located at the "consumers," with the switches then on the wall. So actually not really that "smart."

Radio is radio and brings the corresponding advantages but also disadvantages when the walls are closed, and then you realize, hmm, it doesn't work, it's really annoying. I would definitely lay bus cables, even if they are just Ysty cables, preferably network cables. Then you can do everything and also implement switches. Generally, I would put the electrician on hold for a moment, it already sounds like you'll only have problems later, and discuss that especially with the construction manager.

Since when can you no longer order new windows with sensors?
Wireless solution versus bus cable? I just say apples and oranges
