Hello everyone,
regarding the situation: The electrician is finished except for minor remaining work/defects. The final invoice has been issued but has not yet been paid! The contract is based on the Building Code. An acceptance of the system or test protocols according to [VDE] have not been handed over.
An acceptance of the electrical system is mandatory according to [VDE], that much seems clear to ME, but how does it look with the payment? It was never discussed in the contract or preliminary talks, nor was I fully informed until today about the acceptance. Likewise, the electrician never talked about or hinted that he would carry out/calculate a final inspection. (Due to faulty wiring, I recently got an electric shock). Since I still have the leverage of the outstanding invoice, I definitely want to have confirmation according to [VDE], but what if the electrician then comes up with costs of several hundred euros??? He will argue that it is additional, but I believe it is state of the art and part of every system...
