ektorp sofa cover question

hello! i have the opportunity to buy a well-maintained sofa bed as a 2-seater from the Ektorp series cheaply. unfortunately, we don’t like the cover 100%, and i would like to replace it with one in the color sigsta. currently, one is also offered on ebay but unfortunately it is not intended for the model as a sofa bed; do you think i could use it anyway? what is actually the difference between the regular covers and those for the sofa bed model? maybe they can be slightly altered? i would like to go to ikea myself and take a look, but unfortunately, that involves a long distance and is not so easy. maybe someone here has knowledge and can help me... best regards!!

first of all, the Sigsta cover is actually no longer available in the furniture store, it was already phased out in summer. Well, you write that you might be able to get one on Ebay, but that is really not practical if you have a sofa bed, because then you can’t pull it out when the cover is on, and even with resewing, there’s not really anything to be done. I can only advise you against it.
There are other covers for the sofa bed for a reason, and as far as I know, Sigsta was never available for that anyway.

I would go and look at covers at Ikea and check for differences, although it would actually be logical that there are differences - otherwise one could offer one and the same cover.....

yes, that is already clear to me. I just thought maybe you could simply cut out the part that is under the seat cushions for the sofa bed and then resew it. Unfortunately, the nearest Ikea is 50km away from us and I don’t have a car, so going there and having a look is unfortunately not so easy.
